James O’Keefe’s Voicemail Message Exposes Half-Baked Plan to Infiltrate George Soros’ Charity Organization

James O’Keefe tried and failed to infiltrate the Open Society Foundations founded and headed by billionaire George Soros. The conservative activist (O’Keefe) exposed his sting operation naively via a voicemail message that he had left for Dana Geraghty, an employee of the foundation.

Apparently, O’Keefe forgot to hang up the phone after leaving his message for Geraghty. In the message, he had identified himself as Victor Kesh and claimed to be interested in joining and getting actively involved in Open Society Foundations. He claimed to be interested in aiding the charitable organization fight for European values after identifying himself as a Hungarian-American.

O’Keefe asked for a contact and left a number. Seconds later, he was heard telling another unidentified individual to remain quite as he hanged up the phone. However, for reasons best known to him, he actually fails to hang up the phone and at this point his half-baked plan to infiltrate the group is exposed.

LinkedIn Page exposes O’Keefe

In the voicemail message, O’Keefe engages in a 10 minute discussion with the other unidentified person and reveals his dubious plan. He is heard saying that more pranksters need to make about 100 phone calls to the foundations.  Unfortunately for O’Keefe, he fails to realize that by simply accessing the LinkedIn page of Geraghty, he revealed his actual identity.

Geraghty later said that it was a bit scary to find out that she was singled out and targeted as the point of entry into her employer. She however found it funny that the two individuals in the voicemail message did not know how to properly use the LinkedIn technology to their advantage.

Geraghty forwarded to message to the President of Open Society Foundations, Chris Stone. Stone ridiculed the duo’s attempt to scam Geraghty. He said that in comparison, the Watergate burglars looked better than O’Keefe and his partner in crime. He found it weird that the two could not properly use a simple Internet browser. However, he said that there was nothing funny about the motive to infiltrate the charitable organization.
