Focus on Anthony Petrello’s Involvement in Nabors Industries and Philanthropy

Anthony Petrello is the CEO of Nabors Industries, a holding company of Nabors Exchangeco. Anthony has been with the company from October 2011 and took over as the CEO in 1991. Mr. Petrello holds a J.D. degree from the Harvard Law School as well as an M.S. degree in Mathematics from Yale University. He worked at Baker & McKenzie law firm as a managing partner (1979 to 1991). In June 2016, he was appointed as the chairman to the board of Nabors Industries Ltd. From 2003 to 2012, Anthony was the deputy chairman at the same company.

Involvement and Experience

Anthony Petrello has managed to gain a lot of experience and skills in the operations of the company as he has worked in it for a number of years. His experience and skills helped him earn his promotion to the position of CEO when the former chief executive left. Ever since Anthony Petrello took over, Nabors Industries’ share price has risen by about 180%. This is as a result of Mr. Petrello fostering healthy relationships with the enterprise investors making the oil company successful. He was ranked as position one on the top-paid 50 CEOs in the US in the year 2013. The company has grown a lot and its profits have expanded due to his experience and leadership skills.

Anthony Petrello is charged with the management of the leadership team, formulating strategic plans and ensuring their implementation. He also recruits the perfect individuals to fill the top positions in the company. He links well with the company’s current and potential investors. Anthony is well known for having a great team spirit and his commitment to helping Nabors Industries Ltd achieve its visions and goals.

Philanthropy

Anthony Petrello and his wife Cynthia Petrello were blessed with a baby girl, Carena, in 1997 at the Houston Women’s hospital. Carena was born at 24 weeks, weighed only 20 ounces and suffered from periventricular leukomalacia (PVL). It is a disorder that affects premature infants due to the brain lacking oxygen. This catapulted them into philanthropy as Petrello found that there was little research on neurological diseases in children that was taking place. Petrello and his wife plus some friends donated funds to conceive an institute to research these neurological diseases affecting children at the Texas Children’s Hospital.
